Instructor – U.S. and Public History

The department of History, Political Science and Geography at Nassau Community College is currently seeking to fill a tenure track position in History. The successful candidate must be qualified to teach United States history surveys (colonial era to the present) and to provide leadership for a newly created local history initiative, which will include developing applied learning and public history programming centered on Long Island history. The ability to also teach African-American history and/or Women in American history is highly desirable. Minimum Qualifications: MA plus 30 credits in History or a related field. Ph.D preferred. College teaching experience and the ability to develop on-line courses are also preferred. Salary approximately $57,000 plus benefits, position begins September 2019 and is dependent on budgetary approval by the college.
